Scott blackwell

Scott Blackwell was one of the most accomplished basketball players in Fayetteville High School history. A three-year varsity standout, he helped lead the Bulldogs to conference, tournament, and state championships while earning numerous honors, including All-State, All-Conference, State Tournament MVP, Arkansas Gazette First Team Super Team, and American High School Athlete All-American recognition. Blackwell finished his career as Fayetteville High School’s all-time leading scorer with 1,152 points and set a school record with an 81.1% free throw percentage.

greg culp

Greg Culp is recognized as one of Arkansas' premier track and field athletes, earning success at every level of competition. A standout multi-event performer, Culp excelled in the decathlon, hurdles, high jump, and pole vault, establishing himself among the nation's top competitors during his collegiate career. Beyond his own athletic achievements, Culp built a distinguished coaching career, contributing to multiple NCAA national championship programs and helping develop countless athletes throughout his career.

tracy fancher

Tracy Fancher was one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes of his generation, excelling in basketball, football, and track from his days at the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club through Fayetteville High School. He helped lead AAU teams to state championships in sixth and seventh grade and became a standout at Woodland Junior High, where he was football team MVP, conference track meet high-point individual, and set school records in both the shot put and high jump. Although the basketball court is where he excelled. He starred on Woodland’s celebrated ninth-grade team that posted a 22-0 regular season record before falling in a memorable four-overtime game to Conway.

lyndy lindsey

Lyndy Lindsey distinguished himself as a standout student-athlete at Fayetteville High School, earning letters in golf, track & field, and football where he played on offense, defense and special teams. His athletic excellence on the football field earned him All-Conference honors and a selection to the prestigious KURM Dream Team in 1987. Lyndy continued his football journey at the University of Arkansas on an athletic scholarship as a member of the Arkansas Razorbacks football program where he was a four-year letterman and played on two conference championship teams. After graduating from the University of Arkansas, Lyndy has continued to give back to his community and the city of Fayetteville while building a family and raising his kids in the same community that helped raise him.

jd mcconell

J.D. McConnell was one of Fayetteville High School’s most accomplished multi-sport athletes, excelling in basketball, baseball, and tennis. A two-time All-State basketball selection, he earned State Tournament MVP honors in 1962, a rare distinction for a player whose team did not win the championship. He also helped lead Fayetteville to the 1960 State Baseball Championship, earned All-District honors as a pitcher, and captured the Arkansas State Doubles Tennis Championship as a senior. McConnell continued his basketball career at the University of Arkansas, where he was a two-year starter, leading rebounder, and three-time Southwest Conference All-Scholastic Team selection.
